His passion for ensuring that patients receive the care and advice required to make an excellent recovery, is support broad community experience, as well as Degrees in both Physical Education and Physiotherapy.
Formerly a keen Golfer in Calgary Canada, it was his Mum’s misfortune to be involved in two separate horsing accidents, that diverted Simon from plans to work as a teaching Golf Professional to relocate to Australia and pursue Physiotherapy as a career. He has also had the opportunity to work with several ice hockey teams and has a strong interest in sports including basketball, volleyball, skiing and golf.
With more than 25 years of experience in Physiotherapy, Simon understands the length of time and patient commitment necessary to recover from orthopaedic surgery. In caring for patients and leading the Southcare Orthopaedic team, he often reflects on his Mum’s rehabilitation journey with her broken arms which motivated him to become a Physiotherapist. His commitment and compassion may just be contagious (or genetic) as Simon’s eldest son has recently graduated as a Physiotherapist too!
