Max is an experienced physiotherapist who completed his graduate entry Masters of Physiotherapy at Curtin in 2016 as well as his Graduate Certificate of Sports Physiotherapy at La Trobe Uni in 2022.
He has chosen a career in outpatients at Southcare Physiotherapy as it enables him to work closely with orthopaedic surgeons to provide targeted post-operative recovery and rehabilitation. Max employs a holistic treatment approach to all his patients with his principal interests including the management of shoulder, lower limb orthopaedic and sporting injuries. He utilises manual therapy, pain management techniques, hydrotherapy, dry needling and exercise-based therapy to progress his patients.
Max is a strong believer in an active lifestyle to maintain well-being and continues to play competitive lacrosse, having represented the state at several junior levels as well as the U/23 Australian Team. Max has continued his involvement with Lacrosse Australia and recently returned from the United States as the head Physiotherapist for the 2024 Box lacrosse World Championships.
Socially Max participates in regular running events, various social sports, and gym-based exercise. Max understands the importance of targeted training for injury prevention and recovery for athletes of all abilities.
He has also spent time volunteering his physio services locally at local sports clubs and at the Solaris Cancer Centre as well as internationally, working in amputee clinics in Laos as well multiple trips to Ethiopia where he worked on orthopaedic and trauma wards.
Outside of work, he can often be found at the beach, on the sporting field and rehabilitating (walking) his 3-legged kelpie.
