Bio
Laurel is an experienced Sports Physiotherapist who has been a member of the SportsMed Murdoch team since 2000.
A graduate of The University of Sydney (Physiotherapy, 1992) and Curtin University (Master of Sports Physiotherapy, 1999) Laurel has worked in a variety of areas of Physiotherapy including In-Patient Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Clinical Pilates, Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and Sports Teams.
At SportsMed Murdoch Laurel consults full-time in the clinic where she provides evidence-based practice in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal, spinal, and sporting injuries. Laurel advocates the use of Clinical Pilates in the treatment of musculoskeletal and postural conditions, as well as the maintenance of optimal physical condition following injury or illness.
Laurel has a special interest in the assessment and treatment of adolescent conditions such as Benign Joint Hypermobility Syndrome, as well as the management of sporting injuries in the Child and Young Adult. She works with fellow health professionals to provide comprehensive rehabilitation and safe return to the sporting arena.
Laurel is a former captain of the Australian Women’s Volleyball Team. She is currently the head coach for of Ataque Volley Academy, ECU Chequers Volleyball Club, and Western Australia’s U19 Women’s Team. Laurel was a volunteer Physiotherapist at the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games and has been the team Physiotherapist for the Australian Women’s Volleyball Team.

In her spare time, Laurel enjoys sports and planning holidays.
