Jon Park has been working with Peninsula Sports Medicine Group since 2003 and is a well known and highly commended practitioner. In 2010, after further studies, the Australian Physiotherapy Association granted Jon his title as an APA Sports Physiotherapist for his expertise in both knowledge and clinical application.
He is an active member of the community, helping local sporting teams at various events throughout their competitive seasons, including netball, football and cycling clubs.
Jon is a passionate and dedicated physiotherapist who excels in his chosen field. Jon has worked as a physiotherapist for the St Kilda Football Club. Having been involved with the Frankston Dolphins football club for five years, Jon believes that this was a great stepping stone to being selected for St Kilda.
Jon also has a keen interest in motocross and freestyle motocross, treating many elite riders including being physiotherapist for local X game gold medallist, Cameron ‘Sincs’ Sinclair. Jon has also been invited to work with the Honda factory motocross team and continues to perform in his role as the physiotherapist for RaceSafe at Australian Motorcross and Supercross Championships.
Whilst studying at LaTrobe University working towards his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy, Jon was able to fine-tune his extensive knowledge, assessment and treatment of specific sports injuries.
Jon has had the advantage of working alongside and learning from some of Australia’s elite sports physiotherapists at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra and also sports physiotherapists from A-League and the AFL. It’s during this time that Jon developed a particular interest in sports related injuries. This interest directed Jon’s study and clinical experience to focus on hip joint, groin and lower limb injuries.
Jon’s passion for healing stems from his interest in injury management and rehabilitation. A keen athlete himself, Jon has played high level soccer for many years and has also competed in many marathons and triathlons including an Australian Ironman.
