Bio
Andrew has worked as a physiotherapist with Lifecare in the Oak Park region since 2000. Over that time he has gained extensive experience in managing a wide range of conditions, including low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, headaches, sports injuries, work or motor vehicle injuries, shoulder problems, and hip & knee pain. Andrew conducts a thorough assessment with new clients to understand all of the factors that have contributed to the development of their problem. He then develops an individualised treatment plan that may involve a range of methods including advice, hands-on therapy, taping, exercise, gym programs and assistance with returning to normal activities. This treatment approach aims to address the immediate symptoms as well as the underlying causes of the problem to speed up recovery and prevent recurrence.
In addition to treating patients, Andrew also works at La Trobe University where he teaches physiotherapy students and conducts research. He completed his PhD in 2011, which involved developing and testing a new treatment program for people with lumbar disc herniation and sciatica. Andrew continues to be involved in research studies that aim to find better treatments for common conditions such as back pain, sciatica and shoulder problems. This has led to him publishing numerous research articles in medical and physiotherapy journals. Andrew’s patients benefit from his knowledge of the latest research and new treatments.
