It’s fair to say we are living in unprecedented times with the general fabric of our society seemingly vanishing before our eyes.
Many people are feeling isolated, working from home or quarantined, others afraid to venture far outside until the COVID-19 chaos has subsided.
Our team at Leichhardt Sports Physiotherapy remains open for business as an essential allied health service and we have taken every precaution to ensure we can continue to provide safe, hygienic and effective treatment during this difficult period.
Specific measures include:
- Splitting our staff into two working teams
- Mandatory hand sanitiser and temperature checks upon entering the practice
- Wearing PPE including gloves and masks
- Thorough cleaning of all surfaces
While it’s true that our lives have been severely disrupted and will continue to be so for the foreseeable future, we can still ensure some positive benefits be gained from our relative confinement.
Working from home
If you’re one of the thousands of city employees forced to work from home, now could be the perfect opportunity to utilise some extra time in your diary to assess any lingering physical issue that you’ve been too busy to address and get things moving better again with a tailored physiotherapy management plan.
For individuals under financial stress due to recent under or unemployment, take control of your physical health and speak to your GP about accessing a Medicare subsidised CDM (previously EPC) physiotherapy plan.
Self-isolating
For anyone self-isolating or quarantined with COVID-19, our practice’s telehealth capabilities enable virtual physiotherapy consults to diagnose and manage any musculoskeletal issues you may be experiencing. Private health funds have just announced these services will be fully rebatable from April 14.
We’ll all get through this crazy period of our lives together so remember we’re here to help you help yourselves during this crazy time.
Best in health,
