Ben Wheaton

Physiotherapist

Ben is an enthusiastic and dedicated Physiotherapist who has recently joined the team at Lifecare Claremont.

His journey into the field of physiotherapy was inspired by his own experience of a serious knee injury at the age of 13. During his recovery he was closely guided by Physiotherapists, an experience that not only successfully assisted a return to sport but also ignited the passion for helping others overcome their own injuries. This experience led to his completion of a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at The University of Notre Dame.

Ben is eager to apply what he’s learned both professionally and personally, to provide the best quality care for patients. He is also particularly excited to work with the Claremont Tigers Colts Football team, where he will assist in injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Ben has a particular interest in sporting injuries as well as the broader musculoskeletal injuries such as shoulder pain, lower back pain, and post operative rehabilitation.

Ben values clear communication between patient and therapist, as well as taking the genuine care and time to ensure an accurate assessment is completed and a holistic management plan is established. Ben uses a variety of manual techniques for short term pain relief or mobility improvements, shares his knowledge, and advice to drive lifestyle changes, alongside tailored exercise therapy to create meaningful and lasting improvements. He aspires not only to return patients to their previous function, but to achieve all their goals, as well as offer guidance and advice to avoid potential future injuries.

Outside of Physiotherapy, Ben spends his time keeping fit with running and training at the gym, alongside playing football. He also enjoys spending time at the beach and travelling.
