Shivanthy Sakthivel graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy).
She has extensive experience in the areas of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and women’s and men’s pelvic health physiotherapy.
She has worked 18 years in a hospital as an outpatient physiotherapist and a women’s health physiotherapist covering the maternity ward. She was also involved in running antenatal classes for first-time mothers.
Shivanthy is well experienced in women’s pelvic health, education and rehabilitation for perineum trauma during childbirth, pelvic pain syndrome (sexual dysfunction), organ prolapse (pessary fittings), incontinence and overactive bladder physiotherapy.
Shivanthy also enjoys treating all physiotherapy issues throughout women’s life stages from puberty, pelvic girdle pain during pregnancies, mastitis, birth, postpartum and peri/post menopause.
Shivanthy’s current area of interest is in men’s pelvic health in incontinence and overactive bladder, working closing with urologists with pre and post prostatectomy care.
Shivanthy is fluent in both English and Tamil. She is currently available Monday, Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays.
