Tegan joined the team at Lifecare Beleura Bentons Square Physiotherapy in 2024 after graduating from MIMT with an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy. She also holds a Diploma in Remedial Massage in Advanced Rehabilitation from Queensland Academy (2020) and a Certificate IV in Deep Tissue Massage from Queensland Academy (2014).
Tegan was inspired to help others through massage by a family history of physical disabilities, including Parkinson’s Disease, Scoliosis and Sciatica. Her passion for helping others drew her to remedial massage and deep tissue treatment that developed into an interest in Myotherapy, to more effectively treat others injuries and chronic pain. She has a family history of work in the medical field, which naturally drew her to the health industry and caring for those in need.
Tegan is very passionate and driven when it comes to the pain of others and how this can affect them, both emotionally and physically. Her driving force is to enable others to live their life unburdened by physical pain and empower them to be more than their physical conditions. She believes emphatically in both the physical and emotional side of treatment and emphasizes making a personal connection with her patient, to better understand and tailor her treatment plan to their specific needs as a person.
Tegan takes great interest in treating patients with chronic pain, neck pain, migraines, nerve pain, pain arising from poor posture, arthritis, persistent back pain and physical disabilities such as MS, Cerebral Palsy and Parkinsons Disease. Her techniques are wide and varied, including but not limited to, myofascial release, muscle energy technique, active release technique, trigger point therapy, dry needling, mobilizations, exercise rehabilitation, neuromuscular technique and cupping. Her technique follows working with a patient’s pain threshold to reach the desired result and she works with the patient not as just a body to treat, but a person with problems to be resolved.
